The 2011 release of the Stake Directory for the Membership software is the same as it was last year.

At this point the software will allow you to read use the Membership.csv file from the STAKE computer. It will not work with the Membership.csv file that you would get from the Ward computer or from the csv file that you can export from the church web site. The file must come from the STAKE MLS software from the Stake Clerk's computer.

You will be able to vary the format the sequence of Name, Phone, Address, Ward, City and Zip across the page. You should be able to come close to the format from your last year's directory. You can print a sample of the directory to your printer for ward verification.

In the Preview mode any field that contains more characters that the number allowed for that field will display in red. If a field overflows it will shift the starting position of the next field to compensate for the overflow.

For this year's release of the program we cannot put in “headers” or “page numbers”. To get these pages the way you want them you need to save the modified data. The software will generate you a new csv file which you can import into the same word processor that you used last year to complete the “paging” task.

Developing the Leasdership software was like pulling "Hen's teeth". My lack of ability to learn C#, combined with the programmer not being LDS, seems to be my major problem. We have a new Leadership program that will help you format the Stake leadership. It can only output a CSV file and a MS Word file at this time. The Word file places the data in a table that looks reasonable. I hope that it helps.

We are trying to now do the Ward Leaderships now. With any luck it may be useful by the end of October.

Maybe next year we can put these three parts into an actual book in PDF format.

Leadership pages and calendars will need to be done like you did last year.
