To generate PostScript
data from your computer you will have to add a printer driver that has both
large paper sizes and can output PostScript data files. PostScript data is
the way that your Gen-Chart is sent to our printer. The PostScript data
contains the fonts and graphics that will generate your chart. On Windows and Macintosh
the best way to output PostScript data is to download from Adobe their
printer driver AdobePS
4.3 Setup Utility. You want to scroll down to Printer Driver. Now select
Macintosh or Windows. Within Windows select NT or 95/98 by language. Adobe’s setup utility
will ask for a Postscript Printer Description file (.ppd). Download our ppd. Download
Gen-Chrt.ppd. If this file is opened as a text file, Pick File then Save
As and save the file on your computer. On some computers the system will add
a .txt extension to the filename. Please remove this extension as Adobe will
be looking for a (.ppd). Place this file where you can find it. Follow the
Adobe setup instructions. Your printer will be a “Local printer” and you want
your output to go to a “FILE”. Now give the printer a name that you will
remember (ie. Genealogy Charts). This new version of Adobe Printer Driver
does not install a Printer Setup program like the previous versions. If you
want to install more PostScript printers you need to re-execute the Setup
Utility each time. Until our Web page is
completed you will have to attach your data file to an e-mail message. Send
your e-mail to cadftp@tstonramp.com. Attach your data file to
an e-mail message. If you are using Eudora select Message then Attach File.
Now locate the data file that you are sending. Remember to send your
instructions and mailing address in the e-mail message until our shopping
cart system is working. We are currently working on a page that has a shopping
cart, simple file transfer, and secure credit card entry for payment. We
expect the Prices/Order page to be fully functional by 10/1/99. Go To: Sample Charts. Gen-Chart home page. Evaluations. PostScript Gedcom Files Prices/Order CAD
